Sometimes called testosterone pills, modern oral testosterone (testosterone undecanoate) is FDA-approved, absorbed through the lymphatic system rather than the liver, and taken as a capsule with food.

Oral testosterone isn't for everyone, and we'll tell you if it isn't for you:
Twice-daily dosing with food
— oral TRT only works if you take it consistently.
Cost
— oral testosterone is usually not covered by insurance and costs more than generic gel or injections. Pricing is quoted at your visit based on the product and pharmacy.
Blood pressure monitoring
— oral testosterone carries an FDA warning for blood pressure elevation. We monitor BP and blood work on a set schedule.
Older oral testosterone was liver-toxic
— the current undecanoate formulations bypass the liver. This is a different drug class than the methyltestosterone that earned oral testosterone its bad reputation.
If oral isn't the right fit, Dr. Fuzayloff will tell you at the evaluation — and switching between oral, gel, or injections later is a dose conversion at a follow-up, not a new workup.
